Manuel Trapp is a German photographer & retoucher whose main fields of work include portraits, advertising, fashion, lifestyle & photo journalism.
His portfolio includes a variety of celebrities and musicians, such as Olly Murs, Jess Glynne, Zak Abel, Kool Savas, Chefket, Drunken Masters, Fayan, Manuellsen & Kez.
After successfully completing his media design studies at the Ravensburg University of Cooperative Education, he worked for several years in various advertising agencies as a designer & art director.
After a personal crisis and the feeling of stagnation, Trapp knew it was time for a change. At the end of 2014, he quickly dropped his job as an art director at a renowned advertising agency and applied for a job as a retouch artist with the well-known German photographer Paul Ripke in Hamburg.
One day after his application, he got a call from Ripke's assistant with a request to come to Hamburg for a job interview.
Another day later Trapp got the job offered by Ripke. His job in the studio marked a turning point in Trapps life. Inspired by his boss and his work colleagues, Trapp rediscovered his love for photography and retouching.
When Ripke left Hamburg in 2016 to move with his family to California, Trapp also left Hamburg and moved back to Karlsruhe to start his own photography studio and work as a freelance photographer and retoucher.
In the same year Trapp collaborated with his old friend from college, Michael Colella, on several photography projects in Stuttgart, Hamburg and Berlin for big clients like Kaufland, Stuttgarter Zeitung and Sparkasse.
In addition to his photographic work, Trapp uses his media design skills and looks after his clients in the areas of branding, graphic design, web design and online marketing. He is currently based in Karlsruhe.
